Salaam Aleikum

"Portuguese giants Benfica have held discussions in the UAE this week over possible partnerships with both the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and Al Jazira.
Benfica president Rui Gomes Da Silva, CEO Domingos Soares De Oliveira, and director of international sales Bernardo Faria De Carvalho, met Mohamed Ebraheem Al Mahmood, ADSC general secretary and Talal Al Hashemi, director of technical affairs.
The delegates discussed the role of the ADSC and its “strategic plans and priorities, and efforts taken to develop football and to develop the sport sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi”.
The exact details of a potential tie-up with Benfica were not revealed, but if a deal were to be agreed, Benfica would be the latest European power to join forces with the ADSC. Already, the ADSC has partnerships with Internazionale, Valencia and Manchester City aimed at improving the standard of football in the capital.
The Eagles’ delegation were the guests of Jazira president Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday during the club’s 3-2 defeat by Al Wasl.
The two parties discussed the possibility of working together in the future and exchanged gifts – including a Benfica shirt bearing the name of the Jazira president and the No10."
